He added that, “sometimes things don’t go as planned, or someone messes up, but we’ll fix it and we go on. We will always be there for our customers.”

He also took the opportunity to introduce Manica’s MD, Ralph Ruiters and the WFS team attending the event. Philip praised the team for their commitment and hard work to ensure customers always enjoy excellent customer service. Ralph noted that he was happy to meet the various customers and said he was excited about the logistics industry, as there were many positive things to look forward to. He urged the various industries to work together adding that there are tremendous opportunities to come for logistics industry.

“Through our shared learnings and experiences with Bidvest Freight and other ports we are looking at attracting more cargo to Walvis Bay and Lüderitz. As a port Namibia needs to be more competitive in our service offering. I’ve spoken to Zambian truck drivers who said when they enter Namibia they feel safe, unlike the threats of hijackings in other countries. We need to keep that positive factor of Namibia in place, and as an industry ensure that we continue to deliver excellent customer service.”
